1. Expanded Library

Amazon Music Prime members previously had access to 2 million songs. Now, they can access Amazon Music's full catalog of more than 100 million songs. All these songs are ad-free. In addition, they can can now listen to a variety of podcasts without paying more.

2. Skip Features

While Amazon Music Prime has access to a vast catalog, Amazon Music removes the freedom to play specific songs. Previously, you could listen to and skip songs anytime, anywhere. But now this function is gone. You can only pick music on demand from the All-Access Playlists. If you want to listen to a specific song that's not on the All-Access Playlists, it'll just play a shuffle or similar songs. (PS: All-Access playlists on Echo devices can only be played in shuffle mode.)

3. Download Option

Previously, Amazon Music Prime members could download songs to listen to offline without an internet connection. But with the new November 2022 update, you won't be able to download music. You can only download songs from All-Access playlists. (Skip to Part 3 to get a method to download songs from Amazon Music Prime.) That's why many users think Amazon Music Prime is the same as Spotify's free tier. But when comparing Amazon Music and Spotify, Amazon Music Prime wins over Spotify Free with its ad-free service.

4. Alexa Integration

Amazon Music Prime is compatible with Amazon Echo, Fire TV, and Fire tablets. You can control Amazon Music playback using Alexa voice commands. But there is no on-demand listening, as it's only available on Unlimited right now. By the way, the new twist on Amazon Music Prime is available on the Amazon Music app and Alexa. They are supported on all Amazon Music app versions 22.14 or later.

Part 2. Amazon Music Unlimited Changes

Amazon Music Unlimited is the highest subscription level for Amazon Music. On August 16, 2023, Amazon Music announced that it is increasing the price of Amazon Music Unlimited.

Previously, the Amazon Music Unlimited Individual Plan for Prime cost $8.99/month and $89/year, but it is now $9.99/month and $99/year. The Amazon Music Unlimited Family Plan used to be $15.99/month and $159/year, but it's now $16.99/month and $169/year.

For non-Prime subscribers, the monthly fee for Amazon Music Unlimited climbed from $9.99/month to $10.99/month.
